국제갤러리의 우고 론디노네는 2017년 4월 25일에 뉴욕 구겐하임미술관에서 (이후 구겐하임) 개최되는 제7회 <Robert Rosenblum Lecture: John Giorno and Ugo Rondinone>에 참여한다. 매년 개최되는 <Robert Rosenblum Lecture>는 구겐하임의 20세기 미술 담당큐레이터 로버트 로젠블럼 (Robert Rosenblum, 1927 – 2006)의 업적을 기리기 위해 개설된 강좌로, 올해는 뉴욕 현대미술관 (Museum of Modern Art)의 회화 및 조각 담당큐레이터 로라 홉트만 (Laura Hoptman)이 사회를 맡는다. 이번 토크에서는 론디노네와 미국의 아방가르드 시인이자 퍼포먼스 작가인 존 지오노 (John Giorno)의 작품 세계에 대해 토론하고, 그 간의 창작을 되돌아보는 기회를 가질 예정이다. 지오노와 론디노네는 1997년에 처음 만나 동반자 관계로 발전하여 줄 곧 서로의 창작활동에 영감을 주고 받아왔다. 이들이 함께 진행했던 대표적인 협력활동으로는 지난2015년 론디노네가 기획을 맡아 파리의 팔레드 도쿄에서 개최되었던 <I Love John Giorno> 가 있다. 지오노의 시를 비롯해 그 외 다양한 예술활동들을 함께 선보임과 동시, 전시 자체가 하나의 예술작품 이라는 새로운 개념을 제시했다.

Ugo Rondinone will participate in the Seventh Annual Robert Rosenblum Lecture: John Giorno and Ugo Rondinone at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (hereafter the Guggenheim) on April 25, 2017. The Annual Robert Rosenblum Lecture honors the career of Robert Rosenblum (1927 – 2006), a former Curator of Twentieth-Century Art at the Guggenheim. Rondinone and the American avant-garde poet and performance artist, John Giorno will discuss and reflect on their respective creative practices in a conversation moderated by the Curator of Department of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, Laura Hoptman. Giorno and Rondinone met at a reading in 1997 and have since become life partners and inspire each other’s practice. The collaborative spirit of their relationship was showcased in the 2015 exhibition I Love John Giorno at Palais de Tokyo, Paris, for which Rondinone conceived the first ever retrospective of Giorno’s poetry and multifaceted art as a work in its own right.
