국제갤러리의 박찬경은 뉴욕의 티나킴 갤러리에서 5월 5일부터 6월 11일까지 개인전을 개최한다. 그는 한국의 현대미술작가이자 영화감독으로서 미디어, 텍스트, 영상 등 다양한 매체를 활용하여 냉전, 한국의 전통 종교 문화, 미디어 중심의 기억, 역사의 재구성 등을 주제로 다루어왔다. 본 개인전은 5월 5일 뉴욕 프리즈 아트페어 기간에 맞춰 개최되며, <파경>, <파워통로> 등 잘 알려진 미디어 작품들 약 5점이 출품되어 한국의 모순점과 소외된 것들에 대해 끊임없이 관심을 가져온 작가의 작품세계를 이해하는 기회가 될 것이다.

Park Chan-kyong holds a solo exhibition at Tina Kim Gallery in New York, from May 5 to June 11, 2016. Park, a South Korean contemporary artist and film maker, has employed media, texts, videos, and other mediums to address themes such as the Cold War, traditional Korean religious culture, ‘media-oriented memories’, and ‘historical reconstruction’. Opening on May 5th in correlation with Frieze New York, the exhibition presents five artworks including Pa-gyong: Last Sutra Recitation and Power Passage. This exhibition will present the viewers a chance to gain understanding of the artist’s continual interests on contradictions and marginalized issues in Korea.
