줄리안 오피는 쿤스트할레 헬싱키에서 개인전 <The Blue of Distance>을 개최한다. 디지털 미디어를 주요하게 다루는 오피는 일상의 풍경, 혹은 군중, 동물 등을 대상으로 재해석하여 우리가 새로운 방식으로 주변환경을 볼 수 있도록 한다. 그의 작품들은 대개 광고, 간판, 또는 컴퓨터 게임에 대한 암시를 포함, 보편적으로 인지하는 평면과 입체 사이의 표현을 탐구한다. 이번 전시는 유리 섬유 조각들, 컴퓨터 애니메이션, 초상화와 흑백 아크릴 회화 작품들 등 다수의 신작들을 포함한다.
 
Julian Opie participates in the solo exhibition The Blue of Distance at Kunsthalle Helsinki. Julian Opie, known for his digital art, reinterprets people, landscapes, and animals from around the world with the use of modern technology that we can see the surrounding environment in a new way. His works usually include an allusion to the ads, billboards, or computer games. At the same time his work explores the representation between flat and three-dimensional, which we perceive as a universal. This exhibition also consists of new fiberglass sculptures, computer animation, black-and-white portraits and acrylic paintings.
