국제갤러리 전속 김홍석 작가는 현재 호주 브리스번에서 진행 중인 아시아 퍼시픽 트리엔날레(APT7)에 참여하고 있다. 1993년에 시작되어 올해로 7회를 맞이한 아시아 퍼시픽 트리엔날레는 호주를 비롯한 아시아, 태평양의 현대 미술을 조명하며 명실공히 주목할 만한 예술 행사로 자리잡아왔다. 총 27개국에서 초청된 75명의 작가 및 그룹들의 290여 점의 작업을 소개하는 본 행사는 5개월간의 전시 기간 동안 브리스번 시내에 위치한 퀸스랜드 아트 갤러리(QAG)와 갤러리 오브 모던아트(GOMA)에서 진행될 예정이다. 본 전시에 소개된 김홍석 작가의 작품은 <개 같은 형태>(2009)와 <기울고 과장된 구성에 대한 연구-LOVE>(2012)로 이 중 <개 같은 형태>의 경우 지난 6월, 퀸스랜드 아트 갤러리에 소장된 바 있다.

Kukje Gallery is pleased announce Gimhongsok’s participation in the 7th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art in Brisbane, Australia. Marking the twentieth anniversary of the series, APT has been the only exhibition series in the world to focus exclusively on the contemporary art of Asia, the Pacific and Australia. This year, APT7 expands the Triennial’s geographic scope and physical scale, with over 290 works by 75 artists and artist groups from 27 countries on display across all of GOMA and QAG in the heart of Brisbane. Gimhongsok’s two sculptures, A Study on Slanted and HyperbolicConstitution-LOVE (2012) and Canine Construction (2009), which was acquired by Queensland Art Gallery last June, will be on display during the exhibition period.
